Doula Service

              
As a Labor Doula I prepare expectant mothers and their partner for the birth of their child/children. Every birth experience is unique, beautiful and unpredictable.   As an educated advocate I can help the couple to make informed choices and become active birth participants.  

I offer a free 1 hour consultation.  If we choose to work together, my services include: 

• 2 Prenatal visits that usually lasts around 2 hours
• Help developing and individualized birth plan and providing resources and education that will assist in establishing your preferences
• Remain in contact with you as your due date approaches by phone or email as your due date approaches.  Be available for you to call me with questions or concerns before the birth from 8am to 10 pm for non-emergency and anytime for urgent matters
• Remain with you during your labor and birth from the time you feel I am needed to 1 to 2 hours postpartum including early labor support at home.
• Offers comfort during labor through measures such as massage, pain relief positioning, relaxation (physical and mental), coping and concentration techniques along with use of birth ball, rhythm, and water.
• Help with efficiency of contractions with progressive positioning.
• Assistance in breastfeeding and answering postpartum questions
• 1 Postpartum visit within 2 weeks of birth at your home to review your birth, answer questions and provide breastfeeding support. 

 Fees for these services are $600.  I accept $300 as a retainer fee up front.  The second half is due by the birth.  I accept a check at the last prenatal visit that will be held until the birth.  This eliminates having to think about payment at the birth.
